What is PD?

It's CD-compatible

It's two drives in one. You can use any type of CD (compact disk) plus PD rewritable optical disks.

It's high-capacity

A single PD disk will hold up to 650 megabytes of data. That's as much as 450 high-density 3.5" floppy disks will hold, and more than many hard drives. And unlike built-in hard drives, PD disks are removable - giving you effectively infinite storage capacity.

It's rewritable

Unlike CDs, PD disks are rewritable. In fact, they can be written, erased and rewritten with no loss of data. You can use them as working disks, saving, deleting and modifying files as you see fit.

It's fast

With an average data transfer rate of 875 KB per second, PD drives are ideal for all sorts of applications, from playing back multimedia to backing up your files. And they can read CDs as fast as a 6x speed CD-ROM drive.

Preformatted for Macintosh and DOS systems :
3M Macintosh-formatted PD disks mount in virtually any PD drive attached to a Macintosh system. Plus, the driver and INIT software included let you use both PD disks and CDs with your drive, and make it easy to transfer files between Macintosh computers.
